The atmosphere was filled with joy and celebration this past weekend as Mr. Ime Umontuen from Nung Oku Ekanem in the ONNA Local Government Area and Miss Emem Ndiana-Abasi from Afaha Nsit in the Nsit Ibom Local Government Area were united in holy matrimony at the United Evangelical Church, International Headquarters, located along Aka Road in Uyo.
The solemn ceremony, which drew a large congregation of family, friends, and well-wishers, was officiated by the Reverend Usen Alexander Umoh, the Superintendent and Area Chairman of Uyo Area Conference.
The officiating minister, Revd Dr. Ndifreke Amos, delivered a profound sermon titled ‘Giving to Marriage What It Desires,’ which resonated deeply with the newlywed couple and all in attendance.
Guests were treated to a lavish reception at the elegant Kara Event Centre on Stadium Road in Uyo. The reception was a lively affair, with Dr. and Mrs. A. B. Ekwere graciously serving as the hosts, ensuring a memorable experience for everyone.
The event was attended by many dignitaries, highlighting the importance of the union. Notable attendees included Professor Emmanuel Umanah, Vice Chancellor of Obong University; Dr. Godwin Umontuen, Chairman of Maurid Group; and Dr. Emmanuel Umontuen, Secretary of the Traditional Rulers Council of Akwa Ibom State, along with other distinguished personalities.
The wedding of Ime and Emem was a beautiful testament to love and commitment, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the couple, surrounded by the blessings and good wishes of their family and friends.
