Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akwa Ibom State Council, Comrade Nsibiet John, has expressed appreciation to the Chief Executive Officer of Emma Sol Communications, Mr Emmanuel Sam, for donating an SLTV dish and decoder to the Union.

The presentation, which also includes a special free six-month subscription package, was made on Monday, May 11, during a courtesy visit to the NUJ Press Centre in Uyo by Mr Sam and his team.

Sam, who is also the Publisher of The Guide Newspaper, commended the leadership of the Union for what he described as remarkable strides in institutional reforms, capacity building, and the consistent prioritisation of members’ welfare through training and retraining programmes.

He also encouraged the Union to consider patronising SLTV, describing it as a Nigerian-owned broadcast platform committed to quality service delivery and the promotion of public interest broadcasting.

In his response, the NUJ Chairman, Comr. Nsibiet John, expressed deep appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely, thoughtful, and impactful.

He noted that the donation reflects growing confidence in the current leadership direction of the Union and will further enhance access to information within the NUJ Secretariat.

Comr. Nsibiet John reaffirmed the Union’s commitment to sustaining ongoing reforms, strengthening members’ welfare, and expanding capacity-building initiatives for journalists across the state.

He further assured that the Executive Council would continue to uphold professionalism, transparency, and excellence in service delivery, in line with the core values of the NUJ.
