Some residents of Essien Udim Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State will leave with new cars, while women and youth will benefit from Business Support Grants on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, thanks to the efforts of Hon. Elder Ntiedo Usoro, the Chairman of Essien Udim LGA, as he marks his first anniversary in office.
These are part of activities lined up to mark the one year anniversary of the Hon Ntiedo led administration in Essien Udim.
A statement signed by the Chairman, Anniversary Central Planning Committee, Sir Uduak Isobara, KSJI, and made available to newsmen states that the anniversary will begin with an Interdenominational Thanksgiving Service with the Theme: Great is thy Faithfulness, with Rt. Rev’d Dr Ekerebong Moses, Methodist Bishop, Diocese of Adadia, presiding as Guest Minister in a service that will celebrate God’s faithfulness and blessings in Essien Udim LGA in the last one year.
The event which is scheduled to hold at the Council Secretariat, Afaha Ikot Ebak, by 10am will also feature the Official Presentation of the Chairman’s one year Scorecard, among others.
Other activities lined up to mark the one year anniversary include the Commissioning of Legacy Projects such as the 1.2KM Entrance Road to the Council, Secretariat, 500 Open Market Stalls at Urua Ikpe, Ikpe Annang,, 400 Open Market Stalls at Obo Annang Market in Ukana East and Adiasim and 400 Open Market Stalls at Urua Afa, Okon, and lots more.
At the occasion, Governor Umo Eno, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and his wife, Ekaette Unoma Akpabio; are expected to serve as special guests of honour, and the Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, is to serve as guest of honour, while the Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Udeme Otong, will be Chairman of the Occasion.
