NNL: Ibom Youth FC sign 33 players, set to hit FC One Rocket January 30

Ibom Youth FC of Uyo are battle reader to live up to expectation in the 2020/2021 Nigeria National League (NNL), following the successful completion of recruitment and signing of 33 players ahead of the new season which begins on Saturday January 30, 2021.

Over 200 players from clubs within the state and the country turned up for the club’s screening exercise in Uyo recently, which a total of 33 players have been signed from eventually.

Out of the 33 registered players, 10 are new players drawn from various clubs within and outside Akwa Ibom State, while the club retains 23 old players, bringing the total number of signed players for the new season to start 33. They have all passed through medical and declared fit to prosecute the games in the new season.

Ibom Youth FC are scheduled to participate in the Southern Conference B2 of the 2021 NNL season which has eight teams. The team are: Josey FC, J. Atete FC, Insurance FC of Benin, Crown FC of Ogbomosho, FC ONE Rocket of Onna, Abia Comets FC of Umuahia, Joy Comets Lagos and Ibom Youth FC of Uyo.

Ikot Ekpene Township Stadium has been approved by the NNL to serve as home ground for Ibom Youth FC, which has coach Emmanuel Ntuk as Technical Adviser, while coach Lawrence Iquaibom has resumed as the new chairman of the club.

He expressed the determination and commitment of the Ibom Youth FC to perform exceedingly in the new season.

Meanwhile, Ibom Youth FC are scheduled to host FC ONE Rocket of Onna in the week one game of the 2021 season of NNL. Both are from Akwa Ibom State.
