
The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 6 Division, Nigerian Army (NA), and Land Component Commander, Joint Task Force, South South, Operation DELTA SAFE, Major General Emmanuel Eric Emekah has advised the newly promoted senior officers of 6 Division to always display very high standards worthy of emulation.
Emekah gave the advice on Monday at the Python Officers’ Mess when senior officers who benefited from the 2025 NA Senior Officers’ Promotion were decorated with their new badges of rank.
The GOC further said they must be apt in their daily activities and must be known for their integrity and professionalism. He thanked God for their promotion and urged them to redouble their efforts in mentoring the younger officers in order to have a NA they would be proud of.
The GOC appreciated the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, for approving their elevation to the enviable rank of Colonels in the NA. He wished them the best in their future endeavours.


Other senior officers present also advised them to aim higher in all ramifications, as the rank of Colonel in the NA is a rank that stipulates all-round knowledge and wisdom.
While giving the vote of thanks, one of the beneficiaries and Commander, 6 Division Finance and Accounts, Colonel Olakunle Dada, expressed their appreciation to the COAS for approving their promotion. He also thanked the GOC, senior officers, and well-wishers for their guidance and support, acknowledging that their guidance has been instrumental in shaping their careers.
The newly promoted officers also thanked their spouses and family members for their love and encouragement, acknowledging that they couldn’t have achieved the milestone without them. They urged their colleagues to continue to work hard and strive for excellence.
Among those decorated were the Acting Commander, 6 Division Finance and Accounts, Colonel Olakunle Dada; Commanding Officer, 565 Signal Regiment, Colonel Oladayo Balogun; Commanding Officer, 1060 Workshop, Colonel Jacob Mudi; and Commanding Officer, Administrative Battalion, 6 Division Garrison, Colonel Orobosa Igheghe.
The ceremony was attended by commanders of affiliated formations and units under 6 Division, senior officers, their spouses, friends, and well-wishers.
