Jegglo Foundation holds 2026 Bible quiz to promote integrity, youth evangelism

The Jegglo Foundation has organised the 2026 edition of its annual Bible Quiz Competition aimed at encouraging young people to study the Bible and promote integrity and youth-driven evangelism.

The quiz competition, which held on March 2, 2026, at the 250-Capacity Lecture Theatre of the University of Uyo Main Campus, attracted students, church leaders and invited guests from across Akwa Ibom State. The event was themed “Integrity and Resilience in Leadership.”

Speaking in her welcome address, the President and Founder of the Jegglo Foundation, Prof. Felicia Edu-Uwem Etim, thanked God for the growth and impact of the foundation, noting that the 2026 competition marked the 11th season of the initiative.

She described the milestone as a testimony of God’s faithfulness and the organisation’s commitment to raising young leaders grounded in Christian values.

According to her, the foundation was established in 2012 following what she described as a divine burden to reach, restore and mentor young people who would stand firm in faith and demonstrate godly values in leadership.

Prof. Etim explained that over the years the foundation has organised youth evangelistic outreaches, mentorship programmes, leadership training and community service initiatives designed to promote servant leadership, moral courage and resilience among young people.

Chairman of the occasion, Archbishop Ime Brownson of the African Church, commended the Jegglo Foundation for the initiative, noting that the Bible quiz would help strengthen the spiritual foundation of young people and guide them on the path of righteousness.

Also speaking, a former member of the House of Representatives, Abom Tony Esuh, praised the foundation for its commitment to youth development and pledged support for initiatives aimed at building a better future for the younger generation.

In his goodwill message, Mr. Rehoboth Eno, son of the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, congratulated Prof. Etim on the initiative and described the foundation as a platform that continues to inspire young people and promote transformational leadership.

The event also honoured the memory of the late Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, who served as the Grand Patron of the foundation, in recognition of his contributions to the vision of the organisation.

A highlight of the programme was the distribution of Bibles to participating students to encourage continuous study of the Scriptures.

Primate Emeritus, His Eminence Dr. Emmanuel Josiah Udofia, was also presented with the Model of Integrity and Resilience in Leadership Award in recognition of his exemplary leadership and commitment to promoting Christian values.

Students from various schools and Christian groups participated in the quiz competition, demonstrating knowledge of biblical teachings.

At the end of the contest, Awesome Blessings School, Ikot Iko in Ibesikpo Asutan, emerged winner of the state trophy for the Jegglo Foundation Season 11 Bible Quiz Competition.

In the individual category, Miracle Usen Udo of Uyo came first, Godsgift Samson Okon of Eket placed second, while Uforo Samuel Uforo of Ikot Ekpene took the third position.
