Scripture Union Director begins spiritual tour of Uyo region

UYO: The General Director of Scripture Union Nigeria (SU), Engr. Uwem Cosmos Udoh, commenced a week-long spiritual tour of the Uyo Region on Sunday, with a warm reception at the SU House, located at 64 Ikot Abasi Street, Uyo.

Engr. Udoh was welcomed by the leadership of the Uyo Region, including Regional Committee Members from Uyo and Ikot Ekpene Areas, Uyo Zonal Committee Members, Uyo Central Group Executive, and other Union members.

In his response to a welcome address by the Regional Chairman, Prof. Henry Ojating, the General Director emphasized the Union’s spiritual mission, urging members to remain steadfast.

“We are all in the task of rebuilding broken walls around us,” he said, adding that members must remain committed to every cause where God is involved.

The tour, which spans several key locations across Akwa Ibom and Cross River States, is expected to include courtesy visits to the Akwa Ibom State Government House, NTA Uyo, the Commissioner for Education, the Methodist Archbishop of Ikot Ekpene Archdiocese, Devotion and Interaction with SU High School, Ikot Ekpene, Ukanafun Local Government Chairman, and the Provost of the Dakkada Skills Acquisition Training Centre in Uyo.

Other stops on the itinerary include the Cross River Broadcasting Corporation, Paramount Ruler of Ikom Local Government Area, Bako Hospital in Calabar, Devotion at Federal Government Girls’ College, Calabar, PFN Chairman, Cross River State, and a foundation-laying ceremony for the new Conference Hall at the SU Camp of Favour in Eket.

The tour will culminate in a grand worship service scheduled for Sunday, October 19, at 8:00 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Uyo Parish, 73 Wellington Bassey Way, Uyo.

Among the dignitaries present at the reception were Prof. Charles Uko, Prof. Enobong Joshua, Prof. Peace Obolum, Deaconess Arit Ibanga, Mrs. Esther Ekotumoh, Dr. & Mrs. Aniekan Eyoh, Barr. & Mrs. Sylvanus Obot, Engr. Nsima Umoh, and other faithful members.

As an interdenominational Christian organization, Scripture Union Nigeria has extended an opportunity to the general public, to be part of this spiritual exercise.
