Gov Eno donates land to COOPA to support online media

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has generously donated plots of land to the Conference of Online Publishers in Akwa Ibom State (COOPA) to help alleviate the challenges faced by online publishers regarding land and residential ownership.
The governor made the donation through the Commissioner for Information, Comrade Ini Ememobong, on Friday, December 20, during a thank-you meeting organized by the ministry to celebrate the holiday season.
In his remarks, the governor praised the online media community for their ongoing support in promoting his administration’s narrative in the digital space and encouraged them to continue their efforts in 2025.

Governor Eno highlighted that despite the prevailing economic challenges, Akwa Ibom State has made significant strides in various areas, including infrastructure development, timely payment of gratuities and pensions, and the empowerment of entrepreneurs.
He noted the construction of roads, primary health centers, model schools, water facilities, and other impactful projects.
Emphasizing the vital role of the media as agenda setters and information disseminators, the governor called for a strengthened partnership in 2025.
He also pledged to support the training of online media practitioners to ensure they meet the evolving demands of the industry.
In his response, Mr. Utitofon Morgan, Chancellor of COOPA, expressed gratitude to the governor for his faith in the youth and for entrusting them with significant responsibilities.
Morgan acknowledged the governor’s commitment to the timely payment of gratuities and pensions and assured him of COOPA’s continued collaboration with his administration to advance the ARISE Agenda.
The gathering was attended by COOPA members, directors from the Ministry of Information, Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Akwa Ibom State Council, Comrade Amos Etuk, and other prominent government officials.
