UNIUYO Students, NAIS laud Ntatam for maintaining scholarship programme

Students at the University of Uyo who are beneficiaries of the Dr. Emmanuel Ntatam’s scholarship programme have expressed their gratitude to the philanthropist for continuing the initiative despite challenging economic conditions.
During a recent interview with reporters on the university’s town campus, on Monday, the beneficiaries emphasised that Dr Ntatam’s support has been a significant relief for their academic endeavours.
In their individual remarks, Dara-Obong Felix from the Social Studies Department described the scholarship scheme as a blessing and an answer to their prayers.
“I thank Dr. Emmanuel Ntatam, for his support, who came through for me on the verge of dropping out of school. His support helped me pay my fees and stable my concentration. He is the reason why I am still in school. I must say that Dr. Emmanuel Ntatam is a God sent and a man after His heart.
“Today, I want to encourage other beneficiaries to read their books, study and make him proud. I also plead with other political leaders, philanthropists, and Buiness men in Akwa-Ibom to also commit their resources in helping students who are desirous in pursuing their academic.”
On his part, another beneficiary, Comrade Inyeneobong Ibereidem, a graduate of the department of Special Education, faculty of Education, University of Uyo, disclosed that the scholarship came at a time he needed it most.
Inyeneobong, who was physically elated, further explained that Dr. Emmanuel Ntatam has changed his story from struggling to glory.
“I want to appreciate Dr. Emmanuel Ntatam for coming through for me at the point where I was struggling to pay my fees and sorting money for my project, he came and made a change in my story.”
He further explained that his parents value education, but it was not easy funding his studies alongside those of his siblings. “The scheme lifted so much of the burden off my family. May God that sees the heart reward him.” he expressed.
Both beneficiaries appreciated Dr. Ntatam for his developmental strides and assured him of their continuous commitment to academic excellence and commended his sense of dedication, selflessness, and integrity, even as a private citizen.
On his part, President National Association of Ikono Students, University of Uyo chapter Comrade Iboro Paul Essien lauded the ingenuity of Dr. Emmanuel Ntatam stated that giving back to society endears the donor to the recipients.
While commending the Abuja-based entrepreneur on behalf of students community from Ikono extraction, Iboro said the gesture will creates an everlasting memory in the minds of beneficiaries, which according to him could spur students to engage in philanthropic acts when they eventually become economically independent in life, being products of philanthropy themselves.
Reacting, on behalf of Dr. Emmanuel Ntatam, Head of media of Heal the Needy Ikono Foundation, Mr. James Akpakpan informed stated: “Just like other beneficiaries, these two beneficiaries Inyeneobong Ibereidem and Dara-Obong Felix were selected on merit by the Foundation. I wish them well with the hope they will make themselves, their parents, our foundation proud.
Akpakpan explained that the scholarship scheme runs throughout their stay in their various institutions, while assuring that his boss, the founder of “Heal the Needy Ikono foundation” is very committed in seeing young people climb the ladder of life despite challenges.
He urged the beneficiaries to be serious with their studies as their academic success would validate the scholarship scheme and encourage Dr Emmanuel Ntatam to expand and do more in the coming years.
It is on records that all existing 25 beneficiaries in the university and other tertiary institutions had their scholarships renewed by Dr. Emmanuel Ntatam, while two new beneficiaries were added to the 2025 list.
