Gov Eno urges Christians to emulate Jesus’ character in his divine service

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has charged the people of Akwa Ibom State, particularly Christians, to be steadfast in their service to God by reflecting the character of Jesus in their daily conduct in order to attract bountiful blessings.
Governor Eno gave the charge at a special thanksgiving service to round off the four-day annual Convention of the Lutheran Church of Nigeria held at the church headquarters in Obot Idim-Ibesikpo, Akwa Ibom State.
The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Senator Dr. Akon Eyakenyi, commended the Lutheran church for going beyond evangelism to affect lives through education and health care services.
He gave assurance that government would certainly key into the proposed University project of the church describing it as a welcome development that would raise the bar of education in the state.
Chairman on the occasion and Commissioner for Local Government andChieftaincy affairs, Mr. Frank Archibong, also commended the church for her foresight, acknowledging that education is part of evangelism.
Mr. Archibong urged the church to encourage more youths into the fold by introducing spiritual activities that would sustain their interest.


Earlier in a sermon on the theme, ‘CHRIST FOR YOU’, the National President and Archbishop of the church, Most Rev. Dr. Christian Ekong urged all to live a Godly life and be United in Christ, who is the perfect example of love, freedom, humility, honour and forgiveness.
Most Rev. Dr. Ekong used the occasion to thank the State Governor for allowing his will and actions to align with those of God in the discharge of his responsibilities to the people of the state and prayed God to guide him on.


The chairman, central planning Cmttee of the convention, and head of the civil service, elder Effiong Essien appreciated everyone who identified with the event and praised God for the huge success recorded.
Goodwill messages were delivered by guests, including the Chairman, Transition Commitee of of Uyo Local Government Area, Dr Uwemedimo Udo, who supported the two hundred million naira fund raising for evangelism and Lutheran university projects.


The 2024 annual synodical convention of the Lutheran Church, featured special praise and prayer sessions, word impartation, bible studies, lectures and free medical outreach, among others.
