In a bold and confident statement, Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Committee on Works and Transport, Mr Otobong Bob, has assured the public that Governor Umo Eno would complete all his projects within his hypothetical eight-year term.

Bob said this recently during his Commitee’s oversight visit to Akpan Andem Market where they assessed the progress of various projects, including the reconstruction of Ndiya Street, internal roads, drainages, and the installation of solar lighting within and outside the market area.
As of Tuesday, last week, these projects were already set to be commissioned by Governor Eno, as part of activities marking his one hundredth day in office celebration.

Bob, who emphasized the committee’s role in monitoring and approving the governor’s spending, said it was evident that the Akpan Andem Market projects were of great significance, being the first to be commissioned under Governor Umo Eno’s tenure.

According to him, the project served as a testament to the governor’s commitment to keeping his promises.

“Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly approves all the monies spent by the governor in this state. And wherever Akwa Ibom money is spent, the house of assembly has the powers to visit such places to ensure that the money is spent judiciously.

“This particular project is the first project to be commissioned by Governor Umo Eno tomorrow (Wednesday, September 6th), and it is one of his campaign promises to show that he is a promise keeping governor.

“As a House, our job is to ensure, especially in the area of road construction, that whatever he starts, he will complete in his eigth years as Governor of Akwa Ibom State”, he said.

The committee applauded Governor Eno for his dedication and the speed at which the construction of the street progressed at the time.

They encouraged Governor Eno to continue his efforts and complete the work on Johnson Street, demonstrating to the people of Akwa Ibom the remarkable achievements possible under his administration.
