Unyime Idem scholarship beneficiary graduates from Coventry University in UK
One of the beneficiaries of the first batch of Rep. Unyime Idem’s overseas scholarship initiative in Ukanafun-Oruk Anam federal constituency, Abasiyanga-owo Obot, has graduated after successfully completing his MSc in Oil and Gas Management at Coventry University, United Kingdom.
Idem, who announced this achievement on his official Facebook page on Thursday, expressed satisfaction with Obot’s academic success, stating that it is a testament to his hard work, discipline, and resilience.
He stated, “I’m specifically glad that his commitment to studying and his excellent result transformed that opportunity into a remarkable success story today.
“His accomplishment is a big encouragement for me to sponsor more young Akwa Ibomites abroad on scholarship, and reinforces my unwavering belief that the greatest investment any leader can make is in the people”.
Idem, celebrated across Akwa Ibom State for sponsoring hundreds of his constituents abroad to acquire quality education through scholarship programmes for undergraduate, master’s, and PhD studies, as well as technical skills and global exposure, said that while roads, bridges, and other infrastructure are important, empowering young people to reach their full potential “creates a legacy that endures for generations.”
“This is why I remain resolute in my commitment to expanding opportunities for our youths through scholarships, specialised training, skills acquisition and other human capital development initiatives, both locally and internationally”.
In his post, which has generated over 500 congratulatory messages and commendations, Idem encouraged every beneficiary of his foreign scholarship and training programs, both present and future, to recognize the immense privilege they have received, emphasising that such opportunities come with responsibility.
“Be worthy ambassadors of our constituency, Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria. Apply yourselves diligently to your studies and training, uphold the highest standards of discipline and integrity, and strive to distinguish yourselves with outstanding results.
“Let your success become an inspiration to others and a worthy return on the investment made in your future”, Idem stated while congratulating Abasiyanga-owo Obot for making him and Ukanafun-Oruk Anam Federal Constituency proud.
