2023: ATF Special Squad pledges support for Enoidem, Glory Edet, other PDP candidates
Members of ATF Special Squad, have assured the Akwa Ibom North West (Ikot Ekpene) senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem, of victory in the senatorial district ahead of the 2023 general election.
The group also declared their support for the House of Representatives candidate of the PDP for Ikono/Ini federal constituency, Dr. Glory Edet, and other candidates of the party in Ikono/Ini federal constituency, as well as in Ikot Ekpene senatorial district.
Commander of ATF Special Squad, and International President of Abasibom Total Foundation (ATF), Comrade Ekikere Joshua, gave the assurance at the meetings his group held separately with Bar. Enoidem and Dr. Edet in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.
Speaking during the solidarity visit to Enoidem on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, Comrade Joshua briefed the PDP candidate on activities of ATF Special Squad in Ikono/Ini federal constituency, as well as in Ikot Ekpene senatorial district, and its proposed plan to ensure victory for all candidates of the party during the 2023 general elections.
“We are particularly excited because Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem is brilliant, resourceful, energetic, and a round peg in a round hole who will add developmental values to Ikot Ekpene senatorial district”, Joshua said.
While he welcomed the group, Barr Enoidem expressed gratitude to the ATF Special Squad for its steadfastness and support for the PDP, and its commitment to work for the success of the party in the senatorial district.
Enoidem also called on members of the Squad to support Hon. Itoro Columba who is the PDP candidate for Ikono State Constituency, and his counterpart in Ini state constituency, Lawrence Udoide, and especially Dr. Glory Edet, the PDP candidate for Ikono/Ini federal constituency come 2023.
Enoidem said: “Dr. Glory Edet is a good woman. She will give Ikono/Ini federal constituency a representation like never before, and she will also ensure that rotation of political offices in the federal constituency will be maintained for the peace, harmony, and cohesion of the area”.
At the meeting with Dr Glory Edet on Sunday, September 11, 2022, Comrade Joshua described the former commissioner for agriculture and Dean of Commissioners in Akwa Ibom State as an illustrious daughter of Ini local government area, a trail blazer, and an astute politician.
He pointed out that her magnanimity and commitment to the well-being of youths of Ikono/Ini federal constituency while she served as honourable commissioner in the Governor Udom Emmanuel’s cabinet endeared her to the ATF Special Squad.
He informed Dr. Edet that the group would be embarking on a security tour of Ikono/Ini federal constituency, anytime soon in preparation for next year’s election.
Responding, Dr Edet appreciated the leadership and members of ATF Special Squad for their support, zeal and commitment to the PDP ahead of 2023, and urged them to continue in the good work they are doing.
She promised that youth empowerment for self reliance and economic emancipation of Ikono/Ini federal constituency would be her priority when she resumes as federal lawmaker in 2023.
Dr. Edet said part of her programmes would be regular seminars for the youths on how to develop themselves, apart from formal education, in order accelerate their economic prosperity and minimize restiveness.
Other officers of the squad who spoke at both meetings, including John Bassey a.ka Ikot Ekpo, the Youth Caucus chairman in Ikono and Hon. Nkopuyo Ukpe a.k.a Umaru, a former councillor and co-ordinator of ATF Special Squad in Abak federal constituency said that being a grassroots organisation, the group would ensure massive mobilisation of real voters from the federal constituency to deliver all PDP tickets during the election
On his part, Comrade Akan Gregory, the Special Adviser to ATF Special Squad, assured the PDP candidates of the ability of ATF Special Squad to deliver massively on the mandate of the support movement and the party’s overall interest in 2023.
Highpoint of both occasions was the presentation of materials for Barr. Enoidem and Dr. Edet’s campaign movement. Items donated to the candidates by ATF Special Squad include branded short-sleeve shirts, T-shirts, stickers, badges and a life-sized flex banners, among others.
