The member representing Abak/EtimEkpo/Ika Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon.(Elder) Aniekan Umanah has debunked the mischievous banner headline in the local tabloid claiming that the Honourable member during an Open Square programme on Channels TV at the weekend said his constituents were suffering from “poverty of knowledge “

A Media Release from Hon Umanah’s Office totally dissociates the erudite parliamentarian from such wild misrepresentation noting that the purveyors of the falsehood are deliberately twisting facts in order to impugn the time-tested image of the Honourable Member.

“We wish to state categorically that the above sensational banner headline by Crest Newspaper is a total misrepresentation of Rep Umanah’s views. At No point did Rep.Umanah make reference to his constituents in Abak / Etim Ekpo/ Ika, but rather draw the attention of the viewers to the happenings in NASS and the general need to fill the knowledge gap on the misinformation about the National Assembly “ the release noted in parts.

Aniekan Umanah urged the people of Abak / Etim Ekpo/ Ika Federal Constituency to ignore the false dressing of Umanah’s views designed to drag down his well-earned image amongst his people.
