In response to social media allegations of corruption against former Governor UDOM Emmanuel, his media aide, Mr. Stephen Abia, has dismissed these claims as completely false, unfounded, and without merit.
Abia urged security agencies to investigate the individuals behind these reports and their accomplices, emphasising that the allegations could be both malicious and trivial.
Recent posts by a Facebook user widely known as Fejiro Oliver have accused the former governor of corruption, misappropriation of funds, and theft.
During a conversation with journalists in ONNA on Thursday, January 23, Abia refuted the allegations against Mr. Emmanuel, emphasising that the former governor possessed a comprehensive collection of documents detailing all the projects his administration undertook, from approval through to completion and final accounting.

He stated: “The corruption allegations against former Governor Udom Emmanuel are unfounded, baseless, and without merit. The former governor possesses ample documentation of the projects undertaken by his administration.
“Mr. Emmanuel is a man who is accountable, sincere, and straightforward. He meticulously keeps records. Every single project executed from the beginning to the end has been excellently documented.
“Throughout his tenure, every area in Akwa Ibom State was positively impacted. There was no local government area that his administration did not undertake projects in.
“Moreover, the people liked, loved, and celebrated him. He left office with a clean bill of health”.
Abia urged the public to entirely disregard the malicious reports, saying that they are completely false, unfounded, and a product of the writer’s, their publishers’, and their unpatriotic sponsors’ shallow imagination.
