Call it blunders, bad luck, unprofessionalism, unclinical, undetermined, complacent, untactical, poor judgement or over confidence, well, you may be right or wrong.

But the truth remains: Akwa United lost vital points at home in matchday five of the Nigerian Professional Football League, allowing Northern visitors, Wikki Tourists to share points.

The match ended one- one after ninety nine minutes of rocking encounter at the Nest of Champions, Uyo.

It was Akwa United FC leading through Ndifreke Effiong who took advantage of the defensive error of Wikki Tourists side before scoring 24th minutes of play before Chinedu Udeagha’s equalizer in the 38th minutes of the encounter.

One would have expected that the Promise Keepers will carry the day owing to a number of goal scoring chances they had.

The game would have been a wrap for the Uyo based side if the players were clinical at goal, but the third inability to tame down the Wikki Tourists players morale make things difficult for them.

Pulling a draw to many, was not a good one for the former Federation Cup Champions.

A sports enthusiast, Mr Monday Essiet who spoke with this reporter after the match blamed the coach, Kennedy Boboye for what he called poor judgement in substituting players immediately after resumption of play.

The 64 year old Mr Esshiet called on the head coach to feature players who can deliver the team, stressing that Akwa United have more tactical players to start each game.

To Mr Charles Etim, the loss was uncalled for as the players had the opportunity to demoralize Wikki Tourists since the first half of the encounter.

Commenting on Akwa United’s second goal overruled by the center referee, Mr Etim said such would have not been a problem if Akwa United had already secured thier wining and urged the players to improve in subsequent matches.

Speaking with sports Writers during a post match press conference, coach of Wikki Tourists, Usman Abd’allah said he came prepared.

The coach maintained that he was delighted that he is returning with a point and praised his players for being dogged.

Akwa United Head Coach, Kennedy Boboye was unavailable at the venue of the Post match press conference to field questions from Journalists and reasons for his unavailability was not communicated to curious sports Writers.
