The member representing Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency in the National Assemby, Barr Ime Okon, has pledged his support for the A.R.I.S.E agenda of the Governor Umo Eno administration in Akwa Ibom State, hailing it as a catalyst for good governance, transparency, and development.
Speaking at a conference organized by the Centre for Human Rights and Accountability Network (CHRAN), Barr Okon emphasized the crucial partnership between civil society and political leaders in promoting transparency and effective civic engagement in governance.
He urged everyone to rally behind the A.R.I.S.E Agenda, which prioritizes Agricultural Revolution, Rural Development, Infrastructure Maintenance and Advancement, Security Management, and Educational Advancement, as this would spur grassroots development.
With the conference theme centered on the role of civil society in good governance, Okon stressed the need for critical discussions on the intersection of civic engagement and effective governance.
He called for collaboration among stakeholders to achieve sustainable development and responsive governance, while encouraging participants to propose practical tools for active citizen engagement and good governance.
