I’ve no intentions of marrying another wife now – Gov Eno declares

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has declared that he has no intentions of marrying another wife following the death of the former First Lady, Pastor Patience Eno, The Crest reports.
The governor said he was interested in furthering the goals of his late wife’s pet project, Golden Initiative For All (GIFA), noting that his first daughter, Helen Eno-Obareki will henceforth coordinate activities of the former First Lady’s office.
Governor Eno spoke when the Senate President, Chief Godswill Akpabio visited him at the government house in Uyo, on Friday October 4.
The pastor was said to have jokingly told the Senate President that he would not marry again as he does not have the money to pay for anybody’s bride price.
“No one will be able to fill that vacuum. Her legacy will live in our hearts. She had started projects and I had to introduce our daughter, Helen, to the First Lady so she would step in to coordinate that office so that the office would still be active in doing the programmes that she had started.
“I’m not about to marry a new wife now …”
Earlier in the day, the wife of the President Remi Tinubu, accompanied by Governors’ wives to Uyo, had consoled the Governor’s daughter, Helen.

The President’s wife hailed the Governor for announcing the daughter, Helen as a replacement of his late wife, adding that such was the practice in America.
“Helen, your mom didn’t bring you to me just for nothing and it’s good that your mom’s colleagues are here and the wife of the Vice President is here. I know Helen very well.

“Helen God will be with you. Don’t worry, you will do more than your mom and God will give you good health okay? “
The late Patience Eno, who was married to Governor Eno for 38 years, died on Thursday, September 26, 2024 following an undisclosed ailment.
The Governor had during his state address on Friday October 4, announced that the wife’s death would not hinder the smooth running of his administration.
