Akwa Ibom State has emerged champion of the South-South Zonal Competition of the 8th Edition of the 2023 National Quiz Competition on Legislature and Democracy.
The zonal quiz competition organized by the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) in Uyo, on Thursday, November 2, 2023 had Edo, Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom and Cross River states
Akwa Ibom State will now represent the South-South Zone in the National level of the quiz competition coming up on the 16 November, 2023 to be held at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.
The State is the defending champion of the competition, having won the first prize during the 7th Edition.
While pouring encomiums on the champions: Bassey, Victor Isaac, Gabriel, and Simon Ochayi, the students of Community Secondary School, Aka Offot, Uyo, who represented Akwa Ibom State at the quiz competition, the Commissioner for Education, Mrs Idongesit Etiebet, attributed the latest winning outings of the students to the commitment of the State Government.
Mrs. Etiebet said the education sector is a first-line position in the Pastor Umo Eno administration’s ARISE AGENDA, adding that the sector remained pregnant with more academic excellence.
She expressed hope that the state would glitch the National Championship.
