Saudi Arabia: Troost-Ekong scores in Al Kholood’s 4-3 loss to Al Ittihad


Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong found the back of the net for Al Kholood during their 4-3 defeat against Al Ittihad in the Saudi Professional League on Saturday.
With this goal, Troost-Ekong has now scored twice in 18 league appearances this season.
The 31-year-old Troost-Ekong opened the scoring for Al Kholood in the 15th minute, followed by Myziane Maolida extending the lead to 2-0 just eight minutes later.
With 10 minutes left in the first half Al Ittihad scored off a strike by Abdultahman Al-Oboud.
Former Ajax and Tottenham Hotspur forward Steven Bergwijn made it 2-2 nine minutes of added time in the first half.
Hassan Kadesh scored to put Al Ittihad 3-2 ahead of an assist from N’Golo Kante before Bergwijn got his second to make it 4-2.
In the 92nd minute Maolida was on target again to bring the scoreline to 4-3.
It is a second defeat in the last five games (three wins) for Al Kholood who are in 12th position on 19 points in the league table.
