Glory Edet leads INI Peace Maintenance Movement

The Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr Glory Edet has been inaugurated as the Coordinator of the newly initiated Peace Maintenance Movement (PMM), Ini Chapter.

In her speech after accepting the position, Dr Edet thanked Govenor Udom Emmanuel for confidence reposed in them, and pledged their loyalty and commitment towards the actualization of the mandate and objective of the movement in that Federal Constituency.

The Chief Whip of the State House of Assembly, and Member representing INI, in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ekpenyong is to serve as Secretary.

At the inauguration which took place at Odoro Ikpe, the Local Government Headquarters, the Chairman of the organisation, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem, who is also the National Legal Adviser of the PDP explained that the formation of PMM became necessary to ensure a mechanism for the consolidation of Governor Emmanuel’s achievements.

He reiterated the need to sustain the peace, prosperity and developments recorded by this administration.

Barr. Enoidem lauded the people Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency for their steadfastness with the PDP, and sued for their continuous support going forward, assuring of better times ahead.

Other Coordinators of the newly inaugurated Peace Maintenance Movement unanimously pledged their readiness to continue supporting Governor Udom Emmanuel in his development strides in Akwa Ibom State

They said they had no aspirants ahead of 2023 and will continue to support the governor to produce a successor that will consolidate on the Completion Agenda for the state.
Dignitaries that graced the occasion include, Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Felicia Bassey, State Chairman of the PDP, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Akpan, Commissioner for Information, Barr. Ini Ememobong, Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Barr. Ukpong Akpabio, Commissioner for Special Duties, Rt. Hon. Okpolupm Etteh, Commissioner for local government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Frank Archibong, Commissioner for Lands and Town Planning, Pastor Umo Eno and Local Government Chairmen of Ini and Ikono.

Others include, Aides of the Governor led by their Dean, Ufot Ebong, Chairmen of Boards and parastatals, led by the Chairman of Board of Internal Revenue, Mr. Okon Okon and several officers and members of the PDP at the state and local government levels.
